Swiss GDP Growth Accelerates in Q2

The Swiss economy also recorded solid growth on an annual basis.

GDP increased 2.8% in the second quarter compared with the same period a year earlier. This highlights a notable improvement in Switzerland’s economic performance.

Growth Strengthens From the First Quarter

The second-quarter figures show a clear acceleration from the start of the year.

In the first quarter, Switzerland’s GDP grew 0.6% compared with the previous quarter. Meanwhile, annual economic growth stood at just 0.5%.

The latest data therefore points to much stronger momentum in the Swiss economy during the second quarter, both on a quarterly and year-over-year basis.
