Anthropic Nears $30 Billion Funding Round at $900 Billion Valuation
Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has reportedly agreed on terms for a new fundraising round worth $30 billion, a deal that would value the company at approximately $900 billion.
According to reports, the new valuation would nearly triple Anthropic’s worth compared with levels seen just three months ago, highlighting continued investor enthusiasm around the AI industry.
Major Investment Firms Lead Historic Funding Round
The fundraising round is expected to close as early as this month and is reportedly being co-led by several major investment groups.
Investors involved include:
- Dragoneer Investment Group
- Greenoaks Capital
- Sequoia Capital
- Altimeter Capital
Reports suggest each lead investor could contribute at least $2 billion, while Anthropic continues discussions with additional backers to finalize the deal.
Anthropic Revenue Growth Accelerates Rapidly
Anthropic’s annualized revenue is reportedly expected to exceed $45 billion in the near future.
That would represent a sharp increase from approximately $9 billion at the end of last year, reflecting rapid adoption of AI technologies and expanding demand for advanced artificial intelligence tools.
The projected growth would amount to roughly a fivefold increase in revenue within a relatively short period.
Anthropic Could Surpass OpenAI in Valuation
If completed, the funding round would place Anthropic ahead of rival AI company OpenAI in terms of valuation.
Reports indicate OpenAI was recently valued at around $852 billion, meaning Anthropic’s new fundraising could position the company among the most valuable artificial intelligence firms globally.
The potential valuation jump highlights intensifying competition in the AI sector as companies race to secure capital, expand infrastructure and develop next-generation AI models.
