Nvidia-Backed Reflection AI Targets $25 Billion Valuation
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA)-backed startup Reflection AI is reportedly aiming for a valuation of around $25 billion in its upcoming funding round, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Funding Round Could Triple Company Value
Reflection AI is currently in discussions to raise approximately $2.5 billion in new capital. If completed, the deal would more than triple the company’s previous valuation of about $8 billion, highlighting strong investor demand for next-generation artificial intelligence firms.
Building Open-Source AI with Nvidia
The company is part of a growing group of startups collaborating closely with Nvidia to develop open-source AI models. These systems are designed to be freely accessible and customizable, allowing businesses, governments, and research organizations to adapt AI solutions to their specific needs.
Strategic Move Against China’s AI Expansion
Reflection AI’s initiatives are also seen as part of a broader effort to compete with rapidly advancing AI technologies coming out of China. The startup is positioning itself as a key contributor to a U.S.-led open AI ecosystem, aiming to strengthen technological leadership on a global scale.
Major Investors Show Interest
JPMorgan Chase is reportedly in talks to participate in the funding round through its security-focused investment arm. Existing investor Disruptive is also expected to join, signaling continued confidence from institutional backers.
Rapid Growth Since 2024 Launch
Founded in 2024, Reflection AI has already raised more than $2 billion to date. The company is actively pursuing partnerships to develop localized AI systems, including initiatives focused on sovereign AI infrastructure tailored for U.S. allies.
