Apple has signed a multi-year agreement with Google to integrate its Gemini technology into upcoming AI-powered Siri features, expected to roll out later this year.
As part of the partnership, the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be built on Google’s Gemini models and cloud infrastructure. These models will support future Apple Intelligence capabilities, including a more advanced and personalized version of Siri.
Apple said it selected Google’s technology after extensive evaluation, citing its strength as the most capable base for Apple Foundation Models. The company added that the collaboration will enable a new wave of intelligent user experiences across its ecosystem.
Despite the partnership, Apple emphasized that Apple Intelligence will continue to operate primarily on its own devices and through its Private Cloud Compute platform, while maintaining the company’s strict privacy standards.
The agreement was first reported by Bloomberg in November, with Monday’s announcement officially confirming the deal.
The timing of the news coincides with a major milestone for Alphabet, which reached a $4 trillion market valuation on Monday. Alphabet’s renewed emphasis on artificial intelligence has eased earlier concerns about its long-term strategy and reinforced its position at the forefront of the global AI race.
Earlier this week, Alphabet overtook Apple in market capitalization for the first time since 2019, becoming the world’s second most valuable publicly traded company.
Alphabet’s shares have surged roughly 65% over the course of 2025, outperforming the rest of Wall Street’s so-called “Magnificent Seven,” and have added a further 5% so far this year.
