Shares of Archer Aviation Inc. climbed 6.3% on Thursday after the air taxi developer announced plans to embed NVIDIA’s advanced artificial intelligence computing platform into its aircraft systems.

The electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) manufacturer unveiled the initiative at CES 2026, confirming it will deploy NVIDIA’s IGX Thor platform to power next-generation AI solutions for aviation. The collaboration is designed to strengthen pilot safety, improve airspace coordination, and support the development of autonomy-ready flight control systems.

Archer said it has been working with NVIDIA since early 2025 and plans to demonstrate the technology at its recently acquired Hawthorne Airport facility. The site is expected to become the operational center of Archer’s future Los Angeles air taxi network, as well as a testing hub for its AI-driven aviation systems.

“CES has long been a platform for technologies that transform entire industries, which makes it the perfect place to announce our AI partnership with NVIDIA,” said Adam Goldstein, founder and chief executive officer of Archer. He added that NVIDIA’s AI computing power and software ecosystem provide a strong foundation to accelerate the development of safer, smarter aircraft and modernize how aviation integrates with controlled airspace.

NVIDIA’s IGX Thor platform is built specifically for safety-critical environments, enabling advanced perception, real-time decision-making, and predictive capabilities. Archer has already started integrating the technology into its development process and plans to extend its use across manufacturing operations, fleet management, and pilot training programs.
