Boeing Maintains Strong Jet Delivery Momentum in October

Boeing reported on Tuesday that it delivered 53 aircraft in October, bringing its 2025 total to 493 jets, along with 15 new orders during the month. The U.S. aerospace giant’s steady pace reinforces its progress toward achieving its highest annual delivery total since 2018.

In October, Boeing handed over 39 of its top-selling 737 MAX jets, including nine to Southwest Airlines and five to Ryanair. The company also delivered one 737 NG for conversion into a P-8 maritime patrol aircraft for the U.S. Navy. Its widebody deliveries included seven 787 Dreamliners, two 777 freighters, and four 767s, underscoring its growing output across multiple aircraft families.

Boeing’s production is showing consistent recovery after years of turbulence caused by the 737 MAX grounding, safety challenges, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The company’s CEO Kelly Ortberg is focusing on improving production quality in 2025, while federal regulators recently approved an increase in 737 output from 38 to 42 jets per month.

Despite this progress, Boeing still trails its European rival Airbus, which delivered 585 aircraft in the first ten months of the year.

Boeing’s Orders and Backlog

October was a relatively quiet month for new sales. Boeing logged 15 new orderseight 737s and seven 787s—but also saw seven 737 cancellations, resulting in a net total of eight orders. The company has now secured 320 Dreamliner orders in 2025, marking its second-highest annual total since 2007, when it received 369 orders.

Boeing continues to expand its 787 production facilities in South Carolina, where assembly of the Dreamliner line is ramping up. Two Central Asian airlines also recently announced plans to add more 787s to their fleets.

So far this year, Boeing has booked 782 new orders after accounting for cancellations and conversions, bringing its order backlog to 5,911 aircraft. Boeing shares closed up 0.1% at $194.81 on Monday, marking a 13.4% gain year-to-date.
