Tesla has recalled 63,619 Cybertruck vehicles after discovering a software malfunction that makes the front parking lights brighter than allowed, potentially affecting the visibility of oncoming drivers, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The automaker said it has already issued an over-the-air software update to fix the problem free of charge for all owners. The NHTSA confirmed that the update corrects the excessive brightness issue and brings affected vehicles back into compliance with U.S. lighting standards.
This recall follows another action taken earlier in the week, when Tesla recalled 12,963 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles due to a battery pack component defect. Both recalls are part of Tesla’s ongoing effort to improve safety and ensure compliance through software-based solutions rather than physical repairs.
