Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META) is reportedly bringing on board a senior Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) artificial intelligence executive, even as the company moves to scale back overall hiring.
According to Bloomberg, Frank Chu — who has overseen Apple’s AI teams specializing in cloud infrastructure, training systems, and search technology — will soon join Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). The report cites people familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity as the details remain private.
The timing of this move is notable, as Meta is reducing recruitment across other areas of its business while strengthening its artificial intelligence division.
Chu’s background in advanced AI infrastructure and large-scale training systems is expected to play a key role in supporting Meta’s push to expand its next-generation AI capabilities through Superintelligence Labs.
