Sri Lanka’s Economy Forecast to Grow 4.5% in 2025, Says Central Bank
Sri Lanka’s economy is expected to expand by 4.5% this year, according to the central bank’s monetary policy report released on Friday.
The growth forecast comes despite potential headwinds from U.S. tariffs, which could pose risks to the island nation’s ongoing economic recovery.
In its report, the central bank acknowledged that while growth is likely, several challenges remain.
“External demand conditions and the evolving global economic landscape increase uncertainty around growth prospects in the near to medium term,” the report stated.
The projection offers a clearer view of Sri Lanka’s economic trajectory as the country continues efforts to stabilise and strengthen its economy.
