France’s July Consumer Inflation Holds Steady at 0.9%
Consumer price inflation in France remained unchanged in July, matching both analysts’ forecasts and the preliminary estimate, according to data from statistics agency INSEE.
The harmonized inflation rate — adjusted for comparison with other eurozone countries — stood at +0.9% year-on-year in July. A Reuters poll of 17 analysts had also predicted a +0.9% reading for EU-harmonized inflation.
INSEE’s preliminary report showed the same figure, confirming that consumer inflation was stable. The rate in June was also +0.9% year-on-year.
