White House Suggests China Chip Revenue Deal Could Extend Beyond Nvidia and AMD
The White House said on Tuesday that its recent agreement with Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) to share revenue from certain chip sales to China could be expanded to include other semiconductor companies.
Under the current deal, Nvidia and AMD will give the U.S. government 15% of revenue from sales of specific advanced chips to China.
Speaking at a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the arrangement as “a creative idea and solution.” She added, “It stands with these two companies, and perhaps it could expand in the future to other companies.”
