China Confirms High-Level EU Summit in Beijing Amid Trade Tensions
China announced on Monday that it will host a high-level summit with the European Union in Beijing this week, as both sides seek to navigate ongoing trade disputes amid broader global economic uncertainty.
According to China’s foreign ministry, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa are set to visit Beijing on Thursday for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The summit will be co-chaired by Chinese Premier Li Qiang alongside the two European leaders.
