Mythical Games has transitioned into the Polkadot ecosystem as a parachain, significantly contributing to activity on the network with over 3.6 million accounts. Known for games like NFL Rivals, Mythical Games has integrated Polkadot’s EVM module, allowing developers to utilize the WebAssembly-based Substrate framework while maintaining compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
Kasper Joergensen, Mythical Games’ CFO, noted that the platform’s Mythical Market, handling transactions for NFL Rivals and soon other collections like Blankos and Nitro Nation, has already migrated to Polkadot. With over 5 million wallets moving to Polkadot, the platform is expanding its reach.
Mythical Games CEO John Linden emphasized that this integration aims to enhance secondary trading of gaming assets, leveraging Polkadot’s decentralized structure to ensure secure and transparent transactions. This move strengthens Mythos as a major player in the blockchain gaming industry, rivaling prominent layer 1 chains like Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, and Polygon.
Mythical Games, led by industry veterans who have worked on major titles like Skylanders, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft, also offers custodial and non-custodial gaming wallets on its platform. This setup allows new blockchain users to be protected while more experienced players can connect their own wallets through bridges linking the Mythical Chain to public blockchains.
